First Fire

I was so excited when we moved into our new house about our real fireplace! When we had a gas one I always felt like I was just paying for the gas, not getting any heat. Soooo when the weather got really cold I finally got it sweeped and inspected and Chip got us some tools and a firewood carrier/storage and we had our first fire! The kids had fun helping chip get it started. The one lesson I learned , no matter if it looks like the fire is out, don't shut the flew until the next day:) I learned the hard way and my house still smells like a bonfire:)
